Learning to be Quick to Listen

Today’s Gospel passage featuring the Parable of the Dragnet confronts us with the sobering, unvarnished reality of the final judgment . Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a massive net cast into the sea that gathers fish of every kind, representing all of humanity mingled together in this present age. When the net is finally hauled ashore, a definitive sorting takes place.
