Advent: A Time for Preparation and Renewal

Advent, often referred to as "mini-Lent," is a season of reflection and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a time to examine our lives, repent of our sins, and renew our commitment to God. Just as Lent is a time for fasting and prayer, Advent is a time to focus on good habits and spiritual practices. As St. Francis of Assisi reminds us, "Let us now praise the Lord our God with grateful hearts, and let us offer Him our lives as a living sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving." Advent is an opportunity to offer God a living sacrifice by replacing our bad habits with good ones. By doing so, we can create new patterns of behavior that will bring us closer to Jesus.
